Gerald L. Spray


Gerald Lee Spray, 60, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO.  A memorial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29th at the Blue Springs Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 1433 N.W. R.D. Mize Rd., Blue Springs.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 6800 W. 93rd Street, Overland Park, KS 66212.

Gerald was born December 21, 1956 in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Lawrence and Melba (Semmelroth) Spray.  He worked for Marten Transport and Fed Ex.  Gerald loved his dogs, playing guitar, playing hockey, traveling and restoring classic cars. He liked to joke around and loved being with his family.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, Larry Spray, and Melba & Dale Heaton; and son-in-law, Ryan Flannigan.

His survivors include his wife, Linda Spray of the home; five children: Kelly O’Shea of Joliet, IL, Bridget Ingersoll (Brian) of Blue Springs, MO, Carol Teasley (John) of Oak Grove, MO, Nicki Montgomery of Blue Springs, MO, Katie Klemenz (Rick) of Blue Springs, MO; brother, Larry Spray (Jane) of IL; two sisters: Linda Budd (George) and Sandra Sampson (Bucky), both of IL; twelve grandchildren: Jacob, Andrew, Emily, Dustin, Johnny, Shelby, Cassie, Addy, Mikey, Rian, Liam, and Vivienne; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Scooby Doo.
