Glorya J. Queen


Glorya Jean Queen, 68, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13th at First Bible Baptist Church, Blue Springs, with graveside services at 2:00 p.m. in Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 12th at the church.  Contributions may be made to First Bible Baptist Church Missions Fund, 1441 S. Adams Dairy Pkwy, Blue Springs, MO 64014.

Glorya was born August 20, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of David C. and Eunice Jean (Curtis) Cox.  She married Robert W. Queen on November 7, 1967.  She was a manager at McDonald’s for 15 years.  Glorya enjoyed gardening, cooking, and crafting.  She was the family taxi cab driver and banker.  She and Bob played Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus for 13 years and she kept records of local kids.  Glorya was a member of First Bible Baptist Church for 19 years.

Her survivors include her husband, Bob Queen of the home; three sons: Ricky Queen of Odessa, MO, Matthew Queen (Sheila) of Oak Grove, and Jeremy Queen of Oak Grove; four grandchildren: Brady Queen, Stephanie Kellogg, Skylar Queen, and Lauren Queen; three brothers: David Cox, Howard Carter, and Randy Carter; two sisters: Dee Foster and Teresa Crews; and numerous nieces and nephews.
