  1. To the wonderful Shrout family,
Prayers for peace and strength in the loss of your matriarch. I have wonderful memories of Mrs. Shrout, from 4H, school activities or just being lucky enough to be at the farm. The memories that you share with your young family members will be a wonderful legacy for such a beautiful lady.
    Sincerely,
    Carol Evans Martin

  2. Gary, Robin and I have so many wonderful memories of Harriet while we lived in Independence in the early 70s. She was my mom away from home, and she kept Robin any time we asked. Gary’s memories go back to a childhood in the neighborhood off 24 Highway. Hugs to all 4 boys and prayers for comfort from the Inmans in Concordia.

  3. So sorry for your loss. Your mom was such a nice person. I know you will all miss her.

  4. She was truly one of the most genuine women I have ever known. Loved this wonderful lady full of the beauty of God. To the Shrout boys, please know how deeply she affected our lives and that we share in your loss. Love to the family and prayers.

  5. Harriet welcomed me to my first Shrout gathering as though she had known me all my life and only been out of touch for a while. Her warm smile and open heart made me feel like family and earned my instant love and loyalty. She passed those traits on to her family and gave the world some of the kindest, most generous people I know.

As you continue on without her, remember, you’ve only lost touch for a while. She will greet you with open arms and a big smile when you meet again.

Love and perseverance to you all,

  6. Norris and family – I just learned of your mom’s death. I am so sorry. I remember her as always smiling and a wonderful Christian. Peace be with all of you. I know your dad was saving a spot for her and that we will all see her again. Prayers are with you,
    Lisa (Lanpher) & Joe Banks
