
Harvey Weldon Gregston, 84, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22nd at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home.
Harvey was born on September 19, 1933, son of Harvey King and Iva Bertie (Lowery) Gregston. He had a half-sister, Mary Jo; an older brother, Bill; sister, Dorothy; younger brother, Albert and half-brother, Bob. They were raised in Duncan, Oklahoma. He settled in Kansas City with his wife, Glenda and were together for the past 60 years! They moved from KC, and bought their first home in Independence in 1967, they raised their family and lived there for 30 years. Weldon worked at Gustin Bacon for 9 years then joined General Motors and worked for 23 years, he retired in 1990. In 1997 they moved to Grain Valley to be closer to his kids and grandkids and have lived there for the past 21 years. He has loved watching his grandchildren, Aimee, Amber, Alyson, Greg and Audrey grow into adulthood. He loved working outdoors, mowing the grass, gardening and was an avid Oklahoma Sooners Football fan.
His survivors include his wife, Glenda Gregston of the home; son, Dale (Paula) Gregston of Blue Springs; daughter, Darla (Rick) Link of Oak Grove; 5 grandchildren, Aimee (Dane) Blair of Blue Springs, Amber (Matt) Boyd of Manhattan, KS, Alyson (Dominic) Schoenherr of Lee’s Summit, Greg (Fiance, Randa) Link of Oak Grove and Audrey Link of Kansas City; and 9 great-grandchildren, Nikki, Genevieve, Temperance, Cecilia, Bryce, Aurora, Emery, Wayde and Joseph.
