Helen Marie Dyer, 85, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital of Blue Springs. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23rd at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Oakland Cemetery, Buckner, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 22nd at the funeral home. Contributions are suggested to the family for a memorial of their choice.

Helen was born on March 1, 1921, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of John D. and Marguerite (Flarity) McCall. She married Martin E. Dyer on March 31, 1943. Helen was an Administrative Assistant for AT&T, retiring in 1980, after 25 years of service. She was a member or the Oakland United Methodist Church and the Oakland Ladies Aid.

Her survivors include her husband of 63 years: Martin Dyer of the home; three daughters: Terri M. Surface & husband, John of Grain Valley, MO, Marcia Richards & Husband, Bob of Bates City, MO, and Barbara O’Connell & husband, Steve of Grain Valley, MO; four grandchildren: Cindy Hames, Johnny Surface, Stephanie Moore, & Wes O’Connell; seven great-grandchildren: Zach & Shyanne Hames, Josh Belew, Allison & Kirsten Moore, and Ina & Kelsie O’Connell.
