Herbert C. Scarberry, Sr., 85, of Oak Grove, MO passed away February 15, 2015.
Visitation will be 6:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Friday February 20th at St. Jude’s Catholic Church 2001 S. Broadway, Oak Grove, MO. Burial 1:00 p.m. at MO Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.
Herbert was born September 19, 1929 in George’s Creek, KY to Virgil & Ollie Scarberry.
Herbert was an over the road truck driver. May 7, 1983 Herbert married Theresa L. Norton.
Herbert was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church in Beattie, KS. He was a life member of DAV, VFW, and American Legion.
Herbert enjoyed camping and fishing.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents: Virgil & Ollie Scarberry; 2 sons: Randy and William Scarberry; 1 daughter: Rina Beard.
Herbert is survived his wife Theresa Scarberry of the home; 4 sons: Dan Scarberry and Herb Scarberry, Jr, both of Emporia, KS, Gary Crownover & wife Lori of Marysville, KS, Bryan Crownover & wife Mayra of Wichita, KS; 6 daughters: Linda Miller of Emporia, KS, Sue Baysinger & husband Billy of Salina, KS, Viola Scarberry of Emporia, KS, Virginia Parrish & husband Lester of La Porte, TX, Bonnie Dold & husband John of Strong City, KS, Tracy Geisler & husband Jeff of Leonardville, KS; 24 grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
