Herbert Patrick Scothorne, 64, of Sugar Creek, Missouri, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, January 27, 2019. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 2nd at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO. The family will greet guests from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Herb was born June 22, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Douglas and Phyllis (McConnell) Scothorne. His survivors include his wife of 41 years, Marilyn Joyce (Burkland) Scothorne; two daughters: Amber Ledbetter (Kevin) and Annette Money; two grandsons: Brett Ledbetter (Dana) and Vincent Ledbetter (Nicole); two granddaughters, Taylor and Jordyn; three great-grandchildren: Alexis, Sammy, and Wyatt; six nieces; and three nephews.
Herb was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Doug Scothorne; one sister, Dianna Adams; and his good friend, Paul Henrich.
