Homer Dean Lowderman, 79, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 12th at Calvary Baptist Church, Blue Springs, MO; burial in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11th at the church. Contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 900 NW 22nd Street, Blue Springs, MO 64015.
Homer was born January 30, 1935, in Independence, Missouri, the son of Loyd N. and Nettie (Stackhouse) Lowderman. He retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in the USAF, after 30 years of service. Homer was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 20 years, where he served as Deacon for many years. He was also a member of the Buckner Masonic Lodge #501, where he received his 50 year pin. Homer coached Little League baseball in Lee’s Summit, MO.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
His survivors include his wife of 59 years, Betty Lowderman of the home; son, Randall Lowderman; son, Fred Lowderman; daughter, Theresa Nikel & husband, Mark; son, Mark Lowderman & wife Allison, all of Lee’s Summit, MO; sister, Ruth Ann Nave-Taylor of Blue Springs; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
