Homer Turner, 97, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away on July 12, 2014. He had lived in Springfield, Mo. for the last 7 years.
Homer was born December 10, 1916 in Cushing, OK, the son of Perry and Lessie (Reynolds) Turner. He married Edna Mieser on Dec.24, 1943. Homer was a farmer, worked in a steel fabrication company for 30 years, and was a union carpenter.
Homer is survived by daughter, Diana Stevenson of Springfield, MO; grandson, Andrew Stevenson; great granddaughter, Emily Pearl Stevenson; brother, Harvey Turner; two sisters, Eula McLaury & Deloris Combs; and many dearly beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. in Bethel Baptist Cemetery, Concordia, MO. The family requests no flowers. Contributions may be made to the Grain Valley Alumni scholarship fund.
