Howard Lee Cravens, 88, of Lake Tapawingo, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 23rd at Lake Tapawingo clubhouse from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. for family and friends.
Howard served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. He graduated from UMKC as a chemist. In 1958, Howard was employed at the Veterans Hospital as a cancer research scientist. In October 1961, he was employed at General Service Administration in Kansas City, MO in charge of the research and testing lab, until he retired in May 1982.
His survivors include his wife Barbara Cravens, son Jonathon & Donna Cravens, daughter Rebecca Cravens-Wait, grandson Dillon Wait, grandson Garret & Harmony Wait, great-granddaughter Presleigh Wait, brother Dudley & Maxine Cravens, brother Joseph Cravens, brother James & JoAnne Cravens, and sister Jane & Tom Johnson.
