Ivan W. Braley Sr.


Ivan W. Braley Sr., 92, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Monday, September 2, 2013.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 6th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.  Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.  Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Ivan was born September 24, 1920 in Moberly, Missouri, the son of Acle and Francis A. (Jones) Braley.  He was an Army Veteran of WWII and helped build the Ledo Road.  Ivan owned and operated McMillen Tool.  He made leather craft tools and sold them around the world.  He retired from the ATA in 1983.  Ivan loved hunting, fishing, and playing cards.

Ivan is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers &and sisters, and his great- granddaughter-granddaughter.

His survivors include his wife of 66 years, Virginia Braley of Kansas City, MO; daughter Frances & Larry Lewis of Kansas City, MO; daughter Patricia VanPelt & Tad Daniel of Laurie, MO; son Ivan & Theresa Braley Jr. of Blue Springs, MO; daughter Cheryl & Steve Hill of Carmichael, CA; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Mac.
