
Janalee Ruth Todd, 67, of Independence, MO, passed away on July 10, 2021 in her home surrounded by loved ones. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, 1823 N. Blue Mills Rd, Independence, MO 64058. She will be entombed in the Higginsville, MO Veterans Cemetery by immediate family members.
Janalee was born September 17, 1953, in Kansas City, MO, to Herbert (Hack) and Ivadene Wilson. She attended and graduated from Center High School in Kansas City. She married Dennis Lee Todd on April 17, 1980 in Kansas City. Janalee fought a courageous two-year battle with cancer and inspired others to fight cancer with a positive spirit. She retired in 2019 from Lake City Army Ammunition Plant where she was a seasoned machine operator and quality assurance inspector. She was a spirited and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who worked hard to provide for her family.
Janalee was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Lee Todd in 2019 and her parents.
Janalee is survived by her sons: Victor Hentzen of Independence, Lieutenant Colonel Douglas and Morayma Todd of Ulm Germany, and Daniel and Elizabeth Todd of Independence; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and multiple loving cousins.
