Janice L. Hale


Janice Lynn Hale, 65, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Centerpoint Medical Center.  Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, Oak Grove, MO.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Oak Grove or Janice’s grandson, Emmett Hale’s education fund.

Janice was born October 16, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Ohmar and Kathryn (Lynn) Muncy.  She married Kevin C. Hale on February 13, 1988.  Janice was an elementary teacher at the Independence Christian School and the Plaza Heights Christian School.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, their quilting group, the Life Sunday School class, and of the Friends Book Club.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, David Muncy; and a sister, Kathy Farrow.

Her survivors include her husband, Kevin Hale of the home; son, Robbie Hale (Sarah) of Olathe, KS; grandson, Emmett Hale; and sister, Andrea Wyckoff (Donn) of Blue Springs, MO.

  3. Jan was a great teacher and friend. She was so creative and could make anything you could dream up. Her quick wit had me rolling at times. She was passionate about her family. She was full of peace and joy. She finished the race that was before her and sucessfully passed the batton of faith on… God Blessed her life and we were all blessed to know her…
