Jerry L. Stewart


Jerry Lee Stewart, 69, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2010 at Shangri-La Rehab & Living Center.  Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 30th in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.  A memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. that evening at Souls Harbour Church, 17142 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to help defray funeral expenses, in care of Royer Funeral Home, 100 Royer Lane, Grain Valley, MO 64029.

Jerry was born on September 30, 1941 in Chillicothe, MO, the son of Envoi & Leona Stewart.  He was the youngest of 4 children.  Jerry served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1968, working in the Army Postal Unit in Germany.  He was in banking for several years and then went on to own and operate a very successful auction business, Almost Anything Auction, located in Independence for more than 25 years, until his retirement in 2004.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jimmy & Joe Stewart; and Linda, his wife of more that 25 years.

His survivors include one son: Jeff Stewart & wife, Twila of Grain Valley, MO; three daughters: Shelley Young of Jefferson City, MO, Lynnette Jones & husband Roy of Chilhowee, MO, and Jeralin Stewart of Kansas City, MO; a sister & brother-in-law: Betty & Dan Dodson of Kansas City, MO; six grandchildren: Tiffany & Tom Wilson, Justin & Megan Stewart, Linzie Green & Hunter Green; three great-grandchildren: Hayden, Garth & Kristy Wilson; long time friend & companion: Patricia Camp; and many nephews, nieces & friends.
