
Jesse Calvin White, 94, of Oak Grove, MO, died December 9, 2015 at Golden Living Center, Odessa, MO. Celebration of Jay’s life will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Oak Grove Christian Church, 118 SW 22nd St., Oak Grove, MO 64075.
Jay was born September 4, 1921 in Kansas City, MO. He enlisted in the Navy July 16, 1942 and was trained to stage photographic missions of the Central Pacific islands during WWII. He was discharged December 28, 1945. He then attended telegraph school for his future railroad career which began May 28, 1950 and ended with retirement September 1, 1981. Jay was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church and was a generous, caring, charismatic person – an all-around Great Guy.
Upon his death Jay was welcomed by his lovely wife of 49 years, Sedelia; parents, Grace Kate and Jesse Elmer; brother William; sister Helen; daughter Barbara; son-in-law Bill; grandson Scott; granddaughter Linda; great grandson Willie; great granddaughter Bianca.
Survivors include a son John (Janie); grandchildren Steve, Clayton, Mark, Greg, Jonna and Heather. Also survived by great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
