Joan Marie Hedberg-Baker, 74, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away on April 18, 2016 at Saint Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 22nd at Spirit Life Church, 1312 E. US 24 Hwy, Independence, MO 64050. (816) 332-7428
Joan was born February 10, 1942 in San Francisco California. She graduated from Central High School Kansas City, MO. She enjoyed family and friends, gardening and canning, animals of all types, and spending time in her chat rooms with friends.
Joan is survived by her four children: Jeff Reeves and wife Carolyn, Jamie Burnett, Jolene Nickerson and husband Skip, and Jason Hayes; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three siblings: Jackie Hedberg and wife Janette, Judy Hedberg- Merriman, and Janice Hedberg-Jester and husband Terry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lars Oscar Hedberg and Marion Elaine Hedberg-Bridgeford; and sister, Joyce Hedberg.

4 Aug 2020Joan (Foxy Swede) was in the sixties plus chatroom when I first joined AOL. That was over 15 years ago and she was always so much fun and always pleasant. I will miss saying “HELLO, MY DEAR KC FRIEND.” She was proud of her beautiful family and shared a photo of herself and 2 grandchildren with me. I send condolences to her family. Please remember that she’s not gone, but just away. You will meet again.
