John Preston Harwood RN, 63, of Grain Valley, MO, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO. A visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO.
John was born January 8, 1952, in Casper, Wyoming, the son of James P. and Mickey (Hulse) Harwood. He got his Associate of Arts degree in nursing at the College of the Desert in Palm Desert, California. He was on the Board of Directors in region 4 of the California Nurses Association. John was a nurse in the I.C.U. at Desert Regional Medical in Palm Springs, CA.
John was preceded in death by his parents. His survivors include his siblings: Mr. & Mrs. Patrick H. Harwood of Oak Grove, and Jamie Christly & husband, Charles, of Odessa, MO; and two nieces: Victoria VanSant of Victorville, CA & Charity Schroeder of Reno, NV.
