Joseph James Garcia, 91, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018, surrounded by his family. Services will be held Thursday, August 9th at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with visitation from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. and Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m., followed by inurnment in Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
Joe was born August 29, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Joe Sr. and Mary (Benedetto) Garcia. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and his wife, Julia Marie Garcia. His survivors include his sister, six children, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
