Joseph Miller, 88, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 17th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley; burial in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Joe was born August 29, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan, moving to Independence, MO as an infant. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Joe was an over the road truck driver for Chicago Kansas City Freight Line from 1950 until he retired in 1977. He was a member of Teamsters Local 42. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, and was an avid pool player with numerous tournament wins.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Jean, in 2001.
Joe leaves a stepson, Rick Knox & wife, Debbie, of the home; stepdaughter, Dr. Pam Botts of Lawrence, KS; stepdaughter, Tony Beth & husband Blackie, of Independence, MO; and stepdaughter, Rebecca Weers & husband, Art, of Blue Springs, MO.
