Joyce Kempton, 73, of Blue Springs, MO passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Saint Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO. A celebration of life service will be held 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. preceding the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to St. Mary’s Foundation-Pulmonary Rehab- 201 Northwest RD Mize Road, Blue Springs, MO 64014.
Joyce was born May 3, 1936 in Corder, MO to Martin and Anna Marie (Lueck) Pragman. On August 16, 1985 she married her husband; Thomas James “Jim” Kempton, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; Thomas James “Jim” Kempton, Jr., a brother; Donald Pragman; and sister in law; Linda Pragman.
Her survivors include six daughters; Kimberlea Wright, Terri Ryning (Doug Montgomery), Robin (Mel) Smith, Laurie (Scott) Ekman, Julie Green (Richard Curtis), and Laura McGinness, one son; Dirk Kempton, 18 grandchildren, 9 ½ great grandchildren, one brother; Jim Pragman, one sister; Jeanne (Calvin) Soendker, and one sister in law; Mary Lou Pragman.
