She was born on November 9, 1937 in Kansas City, MO to the late Edward and Maggie Grimm of Lake Tapawingo, MO. She attended White Oak Grade School and was a 1956 graduate of Blue Springs High School. She married Tom Tanner also of Blue Springs in 1956. In 1977, they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks and together they owned Sunrise Printing in Sunrise Beach, MO until Toms death in 1987. She then moved back to her hometown and opened her own business, The Diet Center. She later went on to work at Payless Cashways, in the advertising department. At her 40 year high school reunion, she and Donald White reacquainted and were married in 1997. After retiring from Payless, she worked with Don at Bates City Tractor.
Judy loved to sew and taught ceramics. She was also the first female to ever race KCIR….and win, in 1953. She enjoyed time at the lake, water skiing and partying with her Blue Springs entourage. She also enjoyed getting dressed up and going out dancing. As long as she was able, she enjoyed being out in the yard, sitting on her deck and gazing out at Bass Lake. Her love of animals meant her and Don took in a lot of strays who brought them much joy. Judy was proceeded in death by her daughter, Lynna Tanner; and two brothers, Bill and Verne Grimm.
Survivors include her husband, Don White of the home; her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Sandi Grimm; her daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Tim Masters; three grandchildren, Jeff, Grant and Lindsey Masters; one great-grandson, Alex Masters; and three stepdaughters, Susan Woods, Sandra Clegg and Sherri Brower.
