June Rosella Jenkins passed away quietly on November 9th surrounded by her children and grandchildren at the Oak Grove Nursing Home. She was born June 18, 1922 in Dallas City, IL. to James A Poe and Melissa Poe. She grew up in Illinois and Missouri. She moved to Nebraska with family and married Leonard G. Canarsky with whom she had 6 children. Later she married Leroy E Jenkins of Kansas City on May 1, 1958 and gained a step-son. June was employed by Town Topic restaurants as a waitress for over 38 years. She has been a resident of Oak Grove for 18 years and prior to that Warrensburg, MO. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Oak Grove.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 8 sisters and 2 brothers, son Lawrence K. Canarsky of Campbell, MO., grandchild Chrisa Cathleen Sullivan Lutz, step-son John E. Jenkins and both husbands.
June is survived by 5 children Gary L. Canarsky and wife Nancy of LaCygne, KS. , Leonard D. Canarsky and wife Lauri of Oakland, Ne., Cheryl “Sherry” L. Gross and husband Jack of Oak Grove, Mo., Allen Canarsky and wife Pat or Circleville, Oh., and Terry R. Canarsky of Chilhowee, MO. and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at the Shepherd of the Valley Church in Oak Grove on November 13th with visitation at 1 pm, Service at 2 pm and internment at following at Warrensburg, Mo.
