Services for Katherine Cowan will be held at Full Gospel Assembly, Sugar Creek, MO, September 29th, 2015 with visitation beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon the funeral will begin at three o’clock. The internment will be held at Mount Washington Cemetery.
Katherine Cowan (Hibler) passed into eternal life September 22nd, 2015. She was born in Salisbury, Missouri June 7th, 1936 to Joseph and Bessie Hibler. Katherine was joined in marriage to John (Jack) Junior Cowan February 24th, 1951. Together they shared a joyous 50 years and to this union two children were born Jackie Leroy and Jimmy Eugene.
Katherine spent much of her youth living in Lowry City, Missouri with her six siblings where her spunk and enthusiasm for life radiated vibrantly. She moved to Sugar Creek, Missouri with her husband where she was a devoted and loving mother to her two children.
Katherine’s passion for life became evident as she joined many organizations that allowed her to make friends across the nation. Katherine spent her vacations visiting friends and family across the U.S. She was a loving, caring grandmother who took the time to enjoy her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She often took the time to talk with them, walk with them, play with them and instill her zeal for life, family and friends in them.
In her later years, she became a devout Christian and was baptized at Full Gospel Assembly in Fairmount, Missouri. She spent much of her time volunteering for the benefit of the church and congregation that she loved.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph and Bessie Hibler, her brothers: Joe Hibler, Frank Hibler, and Don Hibler, her sisters: Ruby Griffin and Gladys Womack, her husband: Jack of 50 years and one grandchild: Jackie Eugene Cowan. She is survived by her brother: Gail (Cheryl) Hibler of Odessa, MO, by her children: Jack (Terri) Cowan of Grain Valley, MO and Jim (Diane)Cowan of Sugar Creek, MO; her grandchildren: Christy (James) Wisemore of Oak Grove, MO; Laura (Greg) Montgomery of Higginsville, MO, Michael Cowan of Sugar Creek, MO, Jessica (Jerry) Dines of Appleton City, MO, her great-grandchildren: Megan, Ashley, James, Johnathan, Genesis, Cody, Tyler, Ezekiel, Wade, Jody Mae, and Jora.
