Kathleen Marie Garcia of Independence, Missouri surrounded by family went peacefully to be with the Lord on September 10, 2025.
Katie was born on December 10, 1963. She lived a full life following the Lord’s path. She was a member of the Sheffield Family Life Center. She worked at Fresh Ideas at William Jewell College for the past five years and spent her summers working at Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Marie Garcia and a niece Michelle Moyer.
She is survived by her five siblings Gloria Gamm (James) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Deborah Shinkle of Lee’s Summit, MO; Joseph (Jean) Garcia of Independence MO; John (Lisa) Garcia of Independence MO; and Dennis Garcia of Independence, MO; along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces, nephew, church friends, coworkers and neighbors.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

18 Sep 2025I met Kaie 2 summers ago when we went with my bestie…her close friend on a girls trip to Branson, She was a terrific newer Christian. Her witness and trust for the Lord for everything was very inspiring. We had fun together for a lot of entertainment. I remember the go-cart rides she wanted to do so strongly! She rode those go-carts with as much ferver as the teens on the track! Her long blond hair glowing behind her.
