Kenneth Junior McGaha, 88 years old, passed away on the 8th day of August, 2012, at the Missouri Veterans Center in Warrensburg, MO.
Kenneth was born on October 12, 1923, in Nashville, TN, the son of Edgar McGaha and Allie (Clevenger) McGaha. He served honorably as a teenager in the Eighth Division, 13th Regiment of the U.S. Army during World War II. His unit was part of the Allied invasion of Occupied France, arriving soon after D-Day (1994). His unit saw action in Normandy in Occupied France and the Hurtgen Forest of Germany; the latter was the name given to a five-month series of fierce battles near the German-Belgian border.
He married Billie Jean (Nesbit) McGaha on March 20, 1955. He was both self-employed and an ordained minister who served with Billie in small churches in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas. Toward the end of his life, he suffered from Alzheimers disease and lived for several years each with his two elder daughters.
His survivors include three daughters: Zaneta McGaha of Sarasota, FL, Melissa (Lisa) McGaha of Oak Grove, MO, and Kendra McGaha of Sterling, VA; three grandchildren: CJ Reeves of Oak Grove, MO, Serenity Reeves of Oak Grove, MO, and Leeson Foullon of Sarasota, FL.
The visitation will be Tuesday, August 14th at New Life Assembly of God in Oak Grove, MO at 2:00 p.m. and funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the same church. Military Honors will be given at the graveside at Parks Chapel Cemetery in Coal, MO at 6:30 p.m.
