Kevin L. Anderson


Kevin Lee Anderson, 50, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 14, after a lengthy battle with liver failure.  He was surrounded by his family and loved ones.

Kevin is survived by his beloved wife, Julia, of the home; his parents, Richard and Charlotte Anderson, Independence, MO; his twin brother Karl (Margie) Anderson, Grain Valley, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. 

Kevin was born May 23, 1966, in Independence, MO, and graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1984.  He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ, Oak Grove Restoration Branch, where he served faithfully for many years.  Kevin will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, son, and brother, and most importantly, as a minister and servant of Jesus Christ.  His spiritual gift for music will be missed by all who knew him as a beautiful tenor, pianist, and composer.

Visitation for family and friends is from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2016, at Oak Grove Restoration Branch, 1203 N Broadway St, Oak Grove, MO 64075.   A memorial service will held at the church, as well, at 3:00 p.m. Saturday December 17, 2016.  In lieu of flowers, donations are recommended to the Kevin Anderson Memorial Fund, United Consumers Credit Union, 1111 E 23rd St, Independence, MO, 64055 (checks made payable to Julia Anderson).

  2. I am so saddened by this news. I remember Kevin as a teenager and young man. He was so dedicated and talented. I really tried to get to the visitation but I was sliding all over the road and had to turn back. I hope I can make it to the service tomorrow. Our prayers are with all of you and we love you!!!!
