Lanea was born June 25, 1964 to Jackie C. & Margaret A. (Seek) Scarbrough in Independence, MO. She grew up in a loving home in Oak Grove, MO, always looking up to her big brother Jack Scarbrough. As a young girl, she participated in the Special Olympics, taking part in baseball and basketball. However, her sport of choice was bowling. She was a 1985 Graduate of Lakeview Woods State School, where she enjoyed her time as a cheerleader. Lanea excelled in her personal life, working and living on her own for 29 years. She loved all holidays, especially decorating for them, the latest fashion and silly her mismatched socks. She enjoyed relaxing at the lake with her family, traveling, and outings with her friends.
Lanea was the closest thing to an angel with her bright smile, contagious laugh, and her giant hugs. She loved with all her heart. Lanea was an absolute treasure to all who loved and knew her. She will be deeply missed by all.
Lanea is survived by her parents, Jack & Maggie Scarbrough of Oak Grove, MO; brother, Jack (Debbie) Scarbrough of Independence, MO; niece, Amanda (Jacob) Maun of Independence, MO; great-nephews, Jackson & Cooper; and one great-niece, Mackinley.
