Larry E. Klinge


Larry Eugene Klinge, 60, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at the V.A. Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 12th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1416 SW 19th Street, Blue Springs, MO; burial with Military Honors in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, Mo. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Larry was born on January 29, 1947, in Lamar, Colorado, the son of Wayne C. and Ruby P. (Colbert) Klinge. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Larry was a roofer for Krieling Roofing in Peoria, IL, retiring in 1996, after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Excelsior Springs. Larry was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Lisa AhMu in 2002.

His survivors include his wife, Fran, of the home; five stepsons: Sam Jones & his wife, Debbie of Belton, MO, Robert Leatherwood & his wife, Carol of Artesia, NM, Barry Featherston & his wife, Tammy of Blue Springs, MO, Bret Featherston & his wife, Jill of Winigan, MO, and Tom Featherston & his wife, Rachael of Lee’s Summit, MO; two stepdaughters: Elaine Thornton & her husband Erin of Salt Lake City, UT, and Sherry Walsh & her husband, Steve of Grain Valley, MO; a son-in-law: Oliver AhMu & his wife, Maria of Blue Springs, MO; two uncles: Tom & Ralph Klinge of Dodge City, KS; twenty-nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
