Larry H. Richardson


Larry Hollis Richardson, 55, of Sugar Creek, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016.  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 15th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. 

Larry was born June 17, 1961 in Kansas City, Missouri the son of Buford Lee and Beverly Irene (Graham) Richardson. He served his country in the United States Army.  He also worked as a photographer later to become a regional manager for Olan Mills Photography. He was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan, loved camping and fishing, but most of all he loved any excuse to spend time with his family and celebrate life. Larry had an incredible memory and was very outgoing, he never met a stranger and became friends with just about anyone he met. Most of all, Larry found joy and happiness while spending time with his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Sarah (husband: Matthew) Furgerson of St Louis, MO; one son, Jonathan (wife: Krysten) Kensinger of Lee’s Summit, MO; two brothers: Ed (wife: Lisa) Richardson of Sugar Cree, and Terry Richardson of Heflin, AL; one sister, Cheryl (husband: Terry) Dressback of Independence; four grandchildren: Lloyd & Lucy Kensinger of Lee’s Summit, and Claire & Norah Furgerson of St Louis; and many nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Richardson.
