Larry Smith


Larry Smith, 75, of Independence, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his home.  Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26th at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, with Military Honors at 2:00 p.m.

Larry was born on October 31, 1944, in Warsaw, MO. He was a proud veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War.  Larry was a truck driver “too tall” for many years and was a hard worker.  He loved to fish and had a great sense of humor.  He will be missed.

Larry is survived by his wife, Judy Smith of Independence, MO; two children: Manny Smith of Belton, MO and Becky Chaney of Lee’s Summit, MO; two stepsons: Mickey King of St. Joseph, MO and Russell King and daughter-in-law Amanda of Indianola, IA; four grandchildren: Alexsis Perdue, Daniel Williams, Noah King, and Henry King; and one brother, George Smith, of Gladstone, MO.
