Launa May Ethridge, 72, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11th at New Life Assembly of God, Oak Grove, MO; burial at Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Launa was born September 13, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Chandler Thomas and Marylee Virginia (Smith) Jones. She was an office manager at the truck stops in Oak Grove for several years. She loved her pets and horses, and enjoyed going on trail rides. Launa also enjoyed quilting and spending time with her friends at Villages of Jackson Creek, and especially spending time with her family.
Her survivors include one daughter, Kelly Nichols (Chris) of Bates City, MO; one son, Henry “Skip” Ethridge (Kathy) of Bates City; one brother, Thomas Jones (Judy) of Overland Park, KS; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
