Launita Marie Melton, 94, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away at her home on Sunday, January 3, 2021. She will be buried at Sunset Memorial Cemetery and will be forever missed.
Launita was born November 5, 1926 to Autice and Mayme (Woods) Hack in Shackleford, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Melton; son, Tommy Melton; daughter, Shirley Sorkin; granddaughters, Frankie Abernathy and Krista Sorkin; great-grandson, Corbin Melton; brothers Glen Hack and Clyde Hack; sister, Violet Rion.
Launita is survived by daughters, Connie Burket (Paul), Abbie Hunter (Perry) and Jessie Hayes (Ted); grandchildren: Warren and Casey Burket, Sydney Sorkin, Tomi Lee Melton, Mamie Hunter, Hattie Hayes, Thomas Jack Hayes and four great-grandchildren.
The family appreciates the love and support of Rebecca Bartlett, Lori Harris, Mary Hayes, Vicki Lamb, Susan Lindstrom and Valerie Palecek. In lieu of flowers, be kind.
