Lawrence L. Dennis, 85, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 29th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, Missouri with visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by the family memorial service. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, capacity within the funeral home is limited to 50 guests at a time. Masks and social distancing are required.
Lawrence was born in Napoleon, MO, the son of Oscar G. and Birdie (Rudd) Dennis. He graduated from Oak Grove High School and joined the Missouri Army National Guard. Lawrence retired from Deutz Allis (Allis Chalmers) as an Inspector and later, the Oak Grove School District. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, an avid fisherman, woodcarver, and devoted family man.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret (Peggy), and brothers James Kenneth, Donald, and Charles Wayne Dennis. His brother, Ray, followed in passing on December 9, 2020.
Lawrence is survived by his brother Glenn Dennis of Odessa, MO, and his sister Alice Stever of Topeka, KS; son, Lorn M. Dennis (Cyndy) of Holden, MO, daughter, Laurel Harris (Nick) of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandsons, Christopher Dennis (Jenni), Joshua (Amanda), Jacob, and Justin Harris, Ryan (Casey) and Tyler Williams; and great-grandchildren, Tuff, Lynna, and Iva Dennis, and Rylee, Kaylee, and Skyler Williams.
