Lee Roy Thomas, 90, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Lee Roy was born August 12, 1926, in Dresden, Missouri, the son of Robert F. and Luella L. (Aldridge) Thomas. He married Mary C. Arth on August 12, 1963. Farming and cattle were his life. He also loved flying planes, and had been doing so since 1947 until about a year ago. Lee Roy was a master of any job that came his way. He had a great sense of humor and was always there to help someone out.
Lee Roy was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert E. Thomas; and two infant siblings.
His survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Thomas of the home; one brother, Kenneth Thomas of Oak Grove; two nephews: Ron Thomas (Donett) and Larry Thomas (Loraine); great-niece & nephew: Jessica and Patrick Thomas; and a host of friends.
