Letha Mae Burnett, 71, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2nd at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Letha was born February 26, 1947, in Stover, Missouri, the daughter of Lloyd R. and Nellie V. (Stevenson) Wood. She was a nurse at Blue Springs Care Center for 25 years. Letha loved to read, do Bible Studies, and spend time with her grandchildren. And everyone knew not to interrupt while she was watching The Young and the Restless!
Letha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carroll; four brothers: Floyd Wood, Lloyd Wood Jr., Dale Wood, and Jerry Wood; and one sister, Virginia Massey.
Her survivors include her daughter, Caroline VanWormer (Dennis) of Odessa, MO; her son, Jeffrey Burnett of Oak Grove; five grandchildren: Joshua, Nathan (Brooke), Jayde, Brittney, and Savannah; two great-grandchildren: Ella and Hunter; three sisters: Bertha Jett, Rachel Wood, and Sandy Dorrell; one brother, William Wood; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
