Lorene E. Rowley, 90, of Independence, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 22nd at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO; burial in Grain Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Down Syndrome Guild.
Lorene was born on October 16, 1921 in Grain Valley, MO, the daughter of Claud and Lela (Taylor) Elliott. She was a homemaker.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard L. Rowley; four brothers; and one sister.
Her survivors include one son: Gary Rowley of Independence; two daughters: Debi Allen of Independence & Sandi Teague of Kansas City; four grandchildren: Kim Farrow, Dawn Mitchell, Jenni Bryan, & Justin Teague; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister: Erma E. Cross of Independence.
