Louise Josephine “Jo” Hiatt, 77, of Bates City, Missouri, entered Heaven’s gate on December 18, 2015 at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, MO. A celebration of life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 23rd at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Jo was born April 19, 1938, in Dewitt, Virginia, the daughter of John and Ethel Anderson. She married Patrick Hiatt on October 4, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois. Jo was a housewife and had a great love for her family, animals, and books. She enjoyed bowling, and bowled at Lunar Bowl in Blue Springs on Wednesdays. Jo was a member of the Church of Christ of Temple Lot.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Patrick; 3 sons: Michael A. Hiatt & wife Amanda, Stephen L. Hiatt & wife Gail, and Gary W. Hiatt; brother, Robert Anderson; sister, Carolyn Serrate; 3 grandchildren: Michael B. Hiatt, Ashely L. Burges, and Wendi P. Hiatt; 1 great-grandson; and many nieces & nephews.
