Myra Melissa Duncan, born July 2, 1955 and called home July 1, 2017 at the age of 61. She made her home in Independence, Missouri, and was a 1973 graduate of Fort Osage High School. Melissa Montgomery married Randy Duncan on January 29, 1982.
Preceding her going home was her father H.D. Montgomery, mother Benny Jo Branson, and two brothers, Monte Jo Montgomery and H.D. Mack Montgomery.
Melissa leaves behind her husband of 35 years, four sons, two daughters, two sons-in-law and two daughters-in-law. MeMe, as she was known to her grandchildren, leaves six grandsons, six granddaughters, and two great grandchildren, as well as countless friends of her children who also called her Mom. As her son would say “The pots were a rattlin” and everyone was always welcome. The table won’t be the same without her.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 8th at Longview Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
