Margaret B. Irons, 101, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Bishop Spencer Place just a few weeks shy of her 102nd birthday. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Margaret was born January 27, 1919 in Whelen Springs, Arkansas to Talbert R. and Nell (Goodwin) Bowman. She married Roy A. Irons on March 1, 1942 in Foreman, Arkansas. To this marriage of 47 years were born 3 sons: Bill, Don and Kerry. Margaret was a school teacher, and a farmer’s wife. Her enjoyments included family gatherings, genealogy, and many civic groups which she was active in. She believed church was very important and was a member of the United Methodist Church for many years. Margaret spent the majority of her life in the Minneola/Dodge City, Kansas area but moved to Kansas City the last 4 years of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Irons; son, Don Irons; brother, Talbert; and her parents.
Margaret is survived by sons: Bill and (Mary) Irons, Kerry and (Loeen) Irons; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Irons; 7 grandchildren: Bryan and Kendra Irons, Teena and Link Cotham, Jennifer and Kelley Ireland, Darren and Angela Irons, Kelly and Jeff Henkener, Robert and Tara Irons and Kyle and Liz Irons; and 15 great-grandchildren.
