Margaretha McMechan, 83, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Margaretha was born on July 27, 1935 in Blue Springs, MO, daughter of Joseph and Anna (Koch) St. Clair. She liked to fish, go to garage sales, gardening, collect roosters, and go to the casino. She worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs for 25 years, and currently worked part time at Premier Laundry Inc. in Grain Valley. She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Calvin St. Clair, and Elwood St. Clair; 2 sisters, Marion Gerth, and Thresha Fohn; and grandchild, Justin Schumaker.
Her survivors include her 2 sons, John McMechan Jr. (Lisa) of Independence, and Calvin McMechan (Patti) of Holden, MO; her 4 daughters, Diane Cowen of Independence, Marilyn Louise Pendergrass (Jim) of Independence, Jackie Cummings (Tim) of Grain Valley, and Annie Donahue of Independence; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, John St. Clair of Odessa, MO.
