
Marietta Piper, 88, of Independence, Missouri, died peacefully April 7, 2017 in a hospital in Gallup, New Mexico while travelling to her new home in Henderson, Nevada, after a medical episode. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 13th, at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence; burial in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Independence. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Pleasant View Christian Church, 19114 E Salisbury Rd, Independence, Missouri 64056.
Marietta was born January 20, 1929 in Paris, Illinois, the daughter of Clayton and Marie Eldredge. After working many years in the service industry, she retired and lived out her life in Independence, Missouri, where she was an active member of the Pleasant View Christian Church and community.
Marietta is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Piper, and her brother, Donald Eldredge. She is survived by a sister, Judy Downs, of Paris, IL; a very dear sister-in-law, Glenda Eldredge of Greenburg, IN; daughter, Janet Taylor of Henderson, NV; son, David Warmouth of Independence; grandson, Jeff Bellis, Blue Springs, MO; granddaughter, Jennifer Maldonado of Antioch, TN; and six great-grandchildren.
She will always be loved and missed by her family and friends.
