Marshall Lee Sullins was born on February 7, 1959 to Billy Sullins and Carolyn Crose in Kansas City, Missouri. Bill and Carol were married for 34 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his great grandson, Z’Kai.
Marshall, known as “Marty”, attended William Chrisman High School, class of 1977. He later obtained his GED, while taking care of his family. He worked for many years doing construction. At times, he worked as a manager of a skating rink and as a bounty hunter. He did what needed to be done to provide for his wife and kids, and many others who depended on him throughout the years. He was most proud of his last occupation, working as an Assembler on the Ford Motor Company assembly line in Kansas City, Missouri. He retired after 21 years of service. His coworkers and friends affectionately called him, “Tiny”. Marty was a big guy, with a big heart. His personality was even bigger. He loved playing baseball, watching movies (specifically comedies), and riding motorcycles. He was always loud and opinionated, and had more “one liners” than one person should have. He was definitely one of a kind. He will be missed greatly.
Marty departed this life on Friday, August 28, 2020 in Independence, Missouri. He was surrounded by his family, and transitioned peacefully. He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, LiRae and their 4 adult children: Billie, Jami, Logan and Cheyenne. He also leaves behind his 6 siblings Merrill, Kim, Danny, Nikki, Sirena, and Dawn, as well as his 11 grandchildren: Tynan, Jagger, Sha’Quala, Jason, Taryn, Tianna, Olivia, October, Joseph, Tristan, and Monroe; 1 great grandson: Tucker and so many other family and friends that he’s connected with along his journey.
On behalf on the family of Marshall Lee Sullins, we would like to say thank you to so many of our family and friends who have reached out with support, sympathy, love, and encouragement during this time of bereavement. We cannot express our gratitude enough.
