Martha Arie Roberts, 82, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Blue Springs. Martha was born December 21, 1928 in Callao, MO, the daughter of Press Talton & Lula Catherine (Watson) Walls. She married Neal Fitzgerald Roberts on February 24, 1947 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2005. Martha had retired as a clerical secretary for Montgomery Ward & Co. She enjoyed spending time with her children & grandchildren, and at her lake home. She attended First Baptist Church of Oak Grove.
Her survivors include a daughter: Lori Hopkins & husband Craig of Lone Jack; two sons: Gary Roberts & wife Debra of Odessa, and Jerry Roberts & Wife Kathy of Oak Grove; and adopted daughter: DeDe Lusher of Independence; two sisters: Charlotte Bramblett of Independence and Phyllis Craig of Callao; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 6 step great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm Wednesday, November 2nd at Royer Funeral Home, 101 SE 15th St., Oak Grove. Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, November 3rd at the First Baptist Church, 14th & Salem, Oak Grove; burial in Callao Cemetery, Callao, MO.
