Martha LaBuda


Martha LaBuda, 81, Blue Springs, died Saturday, June 2, 2012, at her home. Martha was born September 19, 1930, in Mendon, MO. She married John LaBuda on February 4, 1950 who preceded her in death in 2003. She was a member of Beta Signa Phi. She took pride in her work no matter what the job. A few of the businesses to have her devotion were Halls Retail Store on the Plaza and the distribution center in North Kansas City. She worked many years at the Kohl’s Department Store in Independence and at the Lathrop and Blue Springs Drug Store.

Martha was a spirited woman and was fun to be around. Her laugh was contagious. She was a strong woman who loved her family with tough love and a gentle heart. She loved going to the lake to fish and watching her grandchildren grow with pride. Her strong will allowed her to live at home until she went to be with her Father in Heaven.

Her survivors include:  son David LaBuda & his wife Cindy of Chillicothe, son Mike LaBuda & his wife Ann of Baldwin City, daughter Kathy Haldiman & her husband Kenneth of Blue Springs; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and her close companions, her dogs Dotty & Murphy.  She also leaves many dear friends, especially Francis & Joyce Lathrop of Independence, MO.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, with Graveside services following at 11:30 a.m. in Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley.
