Martha S. Salas


Martha S. Salas passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on July 1, 1959, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Pablo and Evangelina Delgado.

Martha was a graduate of West High School, class of 1977. She spent many years working in retail, including at Venture and Gordmans, where she built lasting friendships and was known for her loving personality. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, cooking for her family, cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks and the Kansas City Chiefs, and spending time with those she loved most.

On June 15, 1981, Martha married the love of her life, Henry Salas, in Kansas City, Missouri. Together they built a life centered around family, raising their two sons, Henry Jr. and Chris. Martha cherished family trips to the lake and Branson, creating memories that will be treasured forever. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother who adored spoiling her granddaughters.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Evangelina Delgado, and her sister, Maria Delgado.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Henry Salas; her sons, Henry Salas Jr. and Chris Salas (Tara); her granddaughters, Victory and Journey; and two brothers, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home in Independence, Missouri.

  1. I grew up with Martha, Marie, Paul Jr. and Freddie! Paul and Eva raised a great family! I am so sorry for your loss and my prayers are with her family!
