Mary J. Eckart


Mary Jane Eckart (Stadler), 77, passed away at her home in Lee’s Summit, MO on June 16, 2021. A memorial service to celebrate Janie’s life with her family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Royer Funeral Home, 100 Royer Lane, Grain Valley, Missouri (816-847-4441). In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.

Janie was born on February 9, 1944 in Kansas City MO, the daughter of Lawrence A. Stadler and Frances E. Stadler (Bowen).  She was the youngest of three children and was preceded in death by her two siblings, Sue and Jim.

Janie was loyal to her family and had a strong work ethic, legacies that she passed to her children.  Janie was a great cook and liked gardening, knitting and spending time with her family.  She enjoyed going on trips with her family and friends and loved her vacations to visit Ireland, Hawaii and multiple other beach locations. Janie graduated from St. Teresa’s Academy in Kansas City and later retired from KCP&L as a Collections Specialist.  After her first retirement she fulfilled her dream of moving to Estes Park, Colorado where she spent a few years working and exploring the Rocky Mountains and the surrounding area.  She moved back to Lee’s Summit, Missouri and retired in 2020 with 18 years of service from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in her position as an Immigration Management Assistant.

Janie is survived by her five children: Bud (Mary), Suzy (Ron), David, Matt and Mark (Suzanne); her five grandchildren: Elizabeth, Nicholas, Nico, Jacob and Maggie and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
