Mary S. Sherwood, 78, of Oak Grove, MO passed away Friday, April 9, 2010 in her home. Services will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. Burial in the Valley Memorial Gardens, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. preceding the service at the funeral home.
Mary was born December 18, 1931 in Danville, GA to Wiley and Ladie (Drake) Simmons. She served in the US Army from 1954-1956, was employed at the Cannon Textile Mills in Kannapolis, NC and also worked as a cashier for Kmart and Walmart before retiring. There was never a person who met her that didn’t love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Wiley and Ladie, her husband; Robert H. Sherwood, and one son; Robert E. Sherwood.
Her survivors include one son; Wiley D. Sherwood of Concord, NC, two grandsons; Joshua D. Springer of Kansas City, MO and Robert E. Sherwood, Jr. of Wilksboro, NC, one great grandson; Aiden Springer of Kansas City, KS, and one brother Arnold E. Simmons of Orangeburg, SC, a brother-in-law; Orman R. Enke, Sr., and a sister-in-law; Carolyn Simmons, along with many nieces and nephews.
