Max S. Martin, 80, of Independence, Missouri, died on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at his home. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21st at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 611 N. Liberty, Independence; burial of ashes in New Salem Cemetery, Independence.
Max was born December 27, 1938 in Malabon, Philippines, to Equiel and Olympia (Sandiego) Martin. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Max had delivered newspapers for the Kansas City Star for over 30 years. He liked gardening, fishing, and all sports, especially the Royals and the Chiefs. He loved to cook and was famous for his adobo.
Max is survived by his wife, Myrna; seven children: Reverie, Anna, Magnet, December, Xirna, Janessa, and Ezekiel; one sister, Emee; sixteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
