Merriman Lee (Bingham) Sims, 93, of Blue Springs, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 18, 2019. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25th at Eastside Baptist Church, Independence, MO; burial following at Mound Grove Cemetery in Sugar Creek, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at the church.
Merriman was born in Silverton, Texas, on April 15, 1925, to Arthur and Etna (Sumner) Bingham. She worked many jobs in the Blue Springs area, but her favorite was working for her local Mid-Continent Public Library. She not only had a love for reading, but she also enjoyed gardening, poetry, and crossword puzzles.
Merriman was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie I. Sims, and two sons, Johnnie Lee Sims and David Sims.
Her survivors include her brother, Frank Bingham; her beloved children: Rhejeana Mitchell, James Sims, Ruth Drews (Robert), and Leta Beemer; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
