Michael T. Brady

Michael Todd Brady, 51, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019.  A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, January 13th at Woods Chapel Church—Blue Springs. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:30 pm. All are encouraged to remember Mike by wearing Chiefs, Royals, or Mizzou shirts to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to his son’s education fund in care of Sharon Brady.

Mike was born September 22, 1967 in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, the son of Richard Lee and Sharon Dea (Noland) Brady.  He graduated from Brainerd High School in Brainerd, Minnesota in 1985.  He took college courses at Metropolitan Community College.  Mike was employed as a manager for ABIA, and then later, an insurance claims adjustor at Craig Services, until he suffered a stroke in 2011. Mike enjoyed playing basketball and baseball growing up, and later played coed softball as an adult.  Mike was a fan of the Chiefs, Royals, and Mizzou Tigers. However, his favorite athlete was his son, Ian, and he most enjoyed watching him play baseball. Mike also enjoyed music and worked several years as a DJ. Mike may be best remembered for his sense of humor, and always enjoyed making others laugh.

Mike was preceded in death by his uncles, Dennis Noland and James Brady, and a niece, Amanda Brady.

Mike is survived by his son, Ian Brady, of Odessa, MO; his parents, Sharon and Richard Brady, of Independence, MO; a brother, Mark Brady (Holly), of Oak Grove, MO; and a sister, Megan Phillips (Joe) of Salt Lake City, UT. Survivors also include nieces Hilary and Abby Brady and Zoe and Lola Phillips, two aunts, many cousins, and tons of friends to whom he brought much laughter.
